“All persons are puzzles until at last we find in some word or act the key to the man, to the woman; straightway all their past words and actions lie in light before us.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

who might benefit?

Whether motivated to get in touch because of a specific and painful episode in your life, or because of a vague underlying feeling of discontent, sadness or anxiety to which you cannot easily attribute a cause, therapy could help.

You may feel trapped in a cycle of repeated, unhelpful experience and struggle to understand the reasons why and how to change – for example making poor career choices, or serial relationship difficulties.

It’s essentially an opportunity to deeply explore oneself (or perhaps more accurately, one’s self ); to examine feelings, thoughts and motivations in order to gain understanding - the key and first step towards planning a route away from what can be a self-defeating downward spiral.

The goal of therapy is to help clients lead a calmer, happier, more fulfilling and richer life. But what that means to each individual is ultimately indefinable. For some it represents losing something – sadness, anxiety, depression, feelings of being worthless. For others it might conversely mean gaining something such as greater insight and self-understanding and the ability to make better life decisions in line with those new insights.
