“All persons are puzzles until at last we find in some word or act the key to the man, to the woman; straightway all their past words and actions lie in light before us.”

Therapy is firmly based on relationship - that between you and your therapist.  It will be a path along which you will travel together and it is therefore essential that you choose the right person with whom to embark upon your journey. That means right for you.

An exploratory ‘getting to know you’ consultation therefore seems a sensible place to begin where you will be free to make your own assessment as to whether you wish to continue.  We will talk about what you want to talk about;  you won’t be grilled, interrogated or assessed in any way.  The objective will simply be to get a ‘sense’ of one another and whether there is potential for trust to develop over time.  We may have a chat about your expectations and goals around going into therapy, or perhaps begin an initial brief discussion around your motivation for getting in contact.

Should you decide to move forward, then we will set a regular slot (usually weekly) for us to meet and begin our work together.
